Badilisha Ecovillage

How would you like to directly sponsor a family in Kenya to start a permaculture project, working with a Permaculture Research Institute Center near where they live? Badilisha is a permaculture centre and a school for aids-orphaned kids on the shores of Lake Victoria.

We have worked out that with just ten people contributing 10 euros a month each, within 3 years that family will be sorted for life for all the basics they need. This will free them permanently from the trap of poverty, and make it possible for them to choose what they want to do with their lives, rather than having to take any work that comes their way, just for bare survival.

You’ll be directly in contact with them, with email and the online forum, and regular blog updates. It won’t just be money, we are like a support team for them and the people running the permaculture center. You can be as involved as you want to be.

Doing it this way we know that 100% of our money is getting through, and being used to help make a better world, literally. It is the start of a larger project involving a number of local families sponsored. This would help the school to spread permaculture in the region, completely independently and would also help to fund the school, via the revenues earned from the teaching of permaculture.

The first family to be sponsored is the Onyango family.
