Direct Sponsor puts you directly in touch with those you are helping, and provides the cheapest possible means to transfer funds, ensuring that the maximum amount (100%) reaches the recipients.  When you transfer €10 to your recipient, it goes directly to them and you pay the bank 10 cents for the service. Nothing is hidden. 

The website provides everything sponsors and recipients need to cooperate and communicate. The projects themselves are the sole focus of what everyone does. There are no paid staff and no offices. Sponsors may also want to be more involved in their project, perhaps doing research online for something they need or need to know. We make that possible, and much more. You could go over and help out physically too if you like. Your next holiday could be the best you ever had.  

Sponsors are able to access full accounts down to the last detail here on the website, in ‘real time’. That is, you can see the actual accounts as entered, not just an annual summary and presentation. If you want to, you can see every transaction made in DS accounts.  As a Sponsor, all we need is an email address and your chosen username. The recipient will know who you are, but we do not need to; you put what details you want to in your profile.  

This is unlike any other organization. We took out everything we saw in existing organizations that could be taken out without losing the point of the exercise. This left us with sponsors and recipients. All we needed to do then was design a way for the people involved to achieve their aims; for the recipients to live in freedom, love and abundance, and for the sponsors to be able to know that the money is not being wasted. Direct Sponsor achieves this without taking a cut of the sponsor’s money, and without imposing any agenda on the recipient.  

Any permaculture design must be part of a larger context. The landscape, climate and a myriad of other factors must be taken into account. A one-size fits all ‘solution’ is wholly inappropriate. What we design here takes into account many things. By keeping it simple, open and direct, we allow human diversity to manifest itself. What works in one place may not work in another, thus, each project is unique (as it should be).
